Background:
17% of mums experience major depression the year after birth. Although less common, partners and fathers also experience postnatal depression. The CareLoop App has been designed to help overcome many of the barriers of conventional health visitor delivered screening, such as limited staff time and language barriers. The CareLoop app collects daily data on parent wellbeing, helping to identify those at risk of postnatal depression for a timely intervention by a health visitor.
The solution:
In order to ensure an optimal user experience for the CareLoop app, Cognitant were tasked with preparing a short introductory video, helping users to understand the purpose of the app and introducing the importance of tracking symptoms as a preventative measure and a way to seek extra support when needed.
The tone and design of the video needed were designed to be relatable, approachable and reassuring, and an illustrated animation style, with pastel colour palette was introduced to bring the topic to life. Content was also translated into relevant languages to improve accessibility.
